Along Comes the Proverbial Light at the End of the Tunnel

Yes, I can see it ... the light at the end of the tunnel.  A few more weeks and I should have the content of the new book (The Mudhole Collection) ready.  Then it's proofed and reproofed ... then it's off to press.  A tentative but highly likely release date is October 14, 2011.  A few appearances are scheduled an I hope to see everyone there.  I'll be there with my illustrator, neighbor and good friend - Josh Rushing. 

This, my third book, will more than likely be my last poetry effort for a while .. or at least until Aliceville is completed.  Then we'll see what the future holds. 

Thanks bunches to everyone who has urged me on and encouraged me.  If not for your words of support I seriously doubt I would continue to write. 

Summer is upon us and  I plan to spend alot of time by the pool and at the lake .. certainly I will be writing all along.

Can'r believe you write, let alone write poetry. Must have been hidden down there inside of you. I am proud of you and your accomplishments.

Thank you dearest Laura (Mom). It truly is wonderful to have reconnected with you after all these years. You might be interested to know that alot of my writing is born of the memories of my time spent in Darmstadt with you, Diane, Mark and Harold. Those 18 months would turn out to be so significantly molding insofar as I was young and impressionable and my career was just beginning. I learned more than tactics, procedure, and techniques from you .. I learned to make sound decisions ... although I have not always put that knowledge into practice. When "The Mudhole Collection" comes out you may find a hint of the influence of that period of my life in a few of the pieces. I would specifically direct you to a piece entitled "Zeppelinfeld (1985)" . There are other pieces that refer to or are inspired by my time with DST/CID but I cannot recall the titles at the moment. I will find them and let you know. Thanks again for all that you have done and all that you do. Please stay in touch.
